Paris | Day 3 | Louvre & Jardin des Tuileries

So, we spent an entire day at the Louvre, so there aren't a million photos from this day--- I'm not exactly the crazy tourist who takes pictures of every piece of art in the museum, although I did appreciate the high school girls who were waiting in line to see the Mona Lisa, and when they finally got up close, they shouted "Selfies with Mona!"

We did have a lovely lunch break in the courtyard where the pyramid is.  After eating a panini made entirely of melted cheese and butter (!!!) I took some photos and Jason sketched.

And don't worry, we did this:

Those blocks have to have been placed there expressly for the purpose of taking look-I'm-touching-the-top-of-the-Louvre-Pyramid photos.  Or maybe they were lights.

Right past the pyramid and the massive courtyard area between the buildings of the Louvre is the Jardin des Tuileries, a beautiful park filled fountains and gardens.  There were, of course, the toy sailboats that you could rent from "The Boat Man," a man who had what Jason and I believe to be the greatest job in all of the world--- he rents boats to people so they can play with them in the fountains.  It was lovely and relaxing- an excellent time to sit back and take everything in.

Part of the reason we headed to the Louvre on this day so that we could brush up on our art history for our trip to Versailles the next day.  So, next up- Our Trip to Versailles, or My Struggle to See ANYTHING Inside the Palace Because the Lady in the 1990s Windbreaker Suit and Horrific Scrunchie Was Always in Front of Me Taking Selfies with Napoleon's Furniture.
(Are there any other types of windbreaker suits or scrunchies?)
