It's a zoo out there!

I'm sorry about the title of the post... I'm feeling awfully corny today.

I recently found myself with a day off in the middle of the week, so instead of being responsible and doing adult-day-off-things (dish-washing, clothes-washing, dog-washing), Jason and I decided to throw caution to the wind and go to the ZOO.

It was a Wednesday, which meant it was basically the two of us and a group of 1st graders on a field trip. Beautiful day and not crowded at all.  We made a few animal friends that day, so I thought I would share.

Unfortunately, I can't remember who this guy is exactly, other than awesome.

The giraffes look like they're sharing a loving moment, but they're actually just trying to eat the same little branch for lunch.

Also, I have a new-found love of meerkats.  I mean, it's difficult not to love them, but man were these guys hilarious that day.  Look at his face!
