Oldies
I have begun quite the ambitious task- scanning all of my negatives. ALL OF THEM. Years and years of negatives. This way, when I'm finished, I'll have a digital archive of all my work on film. It has developed (haha, I know) into a big undertaking, but it's such an enjoyable experience, I don't mind at all.
Scanning negatives, especially older ones, is like being reunited with something you love and haven't seen in a while. It's a trip back in time and to special places. In 2006, when I was a junior at SCAD, I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to participate in the SCAD study abroad program in Lacoste, France. Because I was using so much film while I was there, and because I had so much work to do once I got back to school in the fall, there are several hundred negatives that I have never done anything with. So, I have a tiny goal within a goal- I'm working on editing images and sequencing them for a book chronicling my travels in France. I think it will serve as a great way to remember such an amazing experience. Here are a few (sort of) edited images that I scanned recently. They need a bit more dust removal, but they are still lovely little memories.
